A Certified Marketing Representative (CMR) is a specialized agent or agency that is authorized to place Yellow Page advertising for qualifying national and regional clients in over 4,000 directories in Canada, the U.S. and around the world. The Yellow Pages Association requires agents to pass a series of exams and receive training before being awarded CMR status.
The Positioners Inc. has met the Yellow Pages Association’s qualifications to become a CMR, and has received training in Yellow Pages ad planning and placement.
Yellow Page and Directory Advertising
Directory Advertising is advertising that appears in a classified directory. Although the most commonly known classified directory is the Telephone Yellow Pages, some 7000 classified directories of various types are published in the U.S. each year. Directories such as real estate locators, trade associations, chambers of commerce, industrial groups, government agencies, newspapers and advertising services, and other organizations can also be used for marketing purposes. Each directory features advertising aimed at a publisher’s specialized field.
Compared to other forms of media, directory advertising is usually less expensive and provides advertisers with the opportunity to call attention to their product or service at a time when the customer is actively looking and prepared to buy.
